Frequently Asked Questions
Imagination is key, and we’ll try our best to build you the most creative website to showcase your business. We’ll work closely with you on every aspect of the website, helping you to choose styles, layouts, fonts, slider placements, gallery placements, etc., so you know your website will be totally unique
We would you ask you for your initial ideas, and if you want some inspiration, suggest you have a look at the different elements from the gallery of websites on here, and start choosing how you might like your site to look, and what sort of content you want to include. We then take a look at your logo, and usually base your colour scheme around this.
After we’ve got a better idea of what you want, we go ahead and start creating some magic! We’ll need some basic content and images (if you have them). We ask you to keep checking on the website while we’re creating it so that we can get constant feedback on things you like, and things you might want changed…and we’ll keep going in this circle until you’re happy with it
This simply means that your website will be designed to work perfectly on PC’s, laptops, tablets and mobile phones. So, for example, if you have a section that has 4 columns going across the page on a large screen pc, that will automatically change to show 2 columns on a tablet, and 1 column on a smartphone, so whatever device your customers are using to view your website, it fits perfectly every time
The major search engines have ‘rules’ that decide whether they like the content of your site…or not. We build your website with this in mind, so we make sure we’ve got your meta tags, meta keywords and meta title just right for Google, Yahoo and Bing.
If you have opted for our ‘Professional’ package, we also make sure that the main ‘on-page’ criteria are met for the search engines too. This includes things like h1 header tags, flesch reading ease, alt descriptions in main page images, internal link optimisation, etc.
As you know your business and market best, we ask you for as much input as possible. We can help you with this and make tweaks and use some creative writing. However, if you need us to completely write the content from scratch, there will be an additional charge, because we will then have to learn quite a lot about your trade and your competitors, to enable us to write quality content for you. This copywriting service is charged from £200 upwards, depending on how many pages we need to write for you. We will then ask you to review the content before it is finalised, and can make many more tweaks until you’re happy with it.
This usually depends on you, and how fast you can get the information we need to us
We’ve had a few clients who were in a rush, as their new website was going on the same domain as the old website, so we’ve put all resources on them and managed to get them completed in less than a week. However, we’ve also had clients who have taken a month to get back to us with crucial images, (for the home page slider so exceptionally important), so their sites have taken a lot longer. We’ll ALWAYS give you an accurate timescale for your website, but please remember that this assumes that we have the right information from you, at the right time
You do! We will host it if you want, as it’s included in the price for the first year, but that’s up to you
You may already have hosting and a domain name, so when we’ve finished the website, you can simply change the password access that you’ve given us, and you have total control
You still own the website if we’ve supplied the domain name and hosting, and will give you full access details upon completion of the website and the final payment. You can choose to transfer your hosting elsewhere if you want, that’s no problem at all
We understand that taking payment up-front is a big ask when you haven’t even seen your website yet, so we ask for a 50% payment up front so that we can make a start, with the balance being due after the site has been completed and you’re happy with it. When we receive the final payment, we’ll email you with all of the login details you need to be able to make any future changes to the website yourself, and to change the passwords if you want to. You can leave the passwords as they are if you’d like us to make any future changes though, and we can discuss prices when you need to
